Title II
Title II, Part A - Teacher and Principal Training & Recruiting
Title II, Part A, is a 100% Federally funded supplemental educational program that provides financial assistance to improve the skills of teachers and the quality of instruction in core academic subjects in public and private elementary and secondary schools.
Of the state allocation, 95% is used for basic education in local educational agencies, 2.5% is used for higher education competitive grants, and 2.5% is used for state activities.
Title II, Part A, combines the Eisenhower and Class-Size Reduction programs into one program that focuses on preparing, training, and recruiting and hiring highly qualified teachers.

Title II, Part B - Mathematics and Science Partnership Program
The intent of this program is to increase the academic achievement of students in mathematics and science by enhancing the content knowledge and teaching skills of classroom teachers. Core partners in these grants must include science, technology, engineering and/or mathematics departments/faculty from institutions of higher education (IHE), including community colleges. Priority will also be given to those grants, including a strong partnership with regional PA STEM Initiative projects. Partnerships of higher education, high-need LEAs, and other stakeholders will draw upon the strong disciplinary expertise of the mathematicians, scientists, technology and engineering faculty from higher education institutions to develop professional development activities that will increase student achievement by providing teachers with strong mathematics and/or science content knowledge.
